|  | Nathional Environmental Education Foundation The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) is launching a new five-year initiative, called Classroom Earth to ensure that the generation graduating from high school over the next ten years is prepared to: pursue environmentally-related careers - the fastes growing sector in the US economy, Actively engage in solving environmental problems in their community, develop the critical thinking skills necessary to make informed decisions to protect the environment throughout their lifetime.
Awards range from 5,000-10,000. Application deadline is Friday, June 20.

Ecolab Visions for Learning The goal of Ecolab’s grant program for school educators is to encourage and reward individual teacher’s creativity and innovation in classroom learning by providing opportunities that will: 1) Motivate and challenge students intellectually 2) Raise student achievement 3) Increase student understanding of academic content, including technical/vocational studies 4) Increase student understanding of the connection between school and life
The program provides materials and resources through grants up to $3,000 to teachers in communities surrounding Ecolab facilities. |
Star Tribune Community Fund Field Trips Thanks to generous support from Star Tribune Foundation, $25,000 will be provided to teachers to help cover the costs of field trips. This program provides educational opportunities through grants of up to $500 to full-time licensed classroom teachers. |
General Mills Celebrating Communities of Color grant The General Mills Foundation is pleased to announce the continuation of the Celebrating Communities of Color grants program for 2008. The Celebrating Communities of Color grants program awards fifty $10,000 grants to nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities 7-county metro area serving communities of color |
Jordan Fundamentals The initiative benefits, recognizes and rewards teachers in underprivileged schools who strive beyond challenges and limited resources to achieve excellence through instructional creativity, innovative teaching and high learning expectation for students.
Teachers working in grades 1-12 are eligible. The grant amount of $2,500 each given to 400 recipients will remain the same, totaling $1 million annually donated to education. Of the 400 grants, 200 will go to teachers of grades 1-6, and 200 will go to teachers of grades 7-12.
In order to be eligible, teachers must work in public schools where at least 50% of the school’s student population is eligible for the free or reduced lunch program.
The application deadline is usually June 15. |
3M Ingenuity Grants The grant recognizes public school teachers in grades three through eight and helps them bring new resources into their classroom to raise student interest and achievement in math, science and economics. Individual grants of up to $3,500 help purchase materials, such as microscopes, calculators and books, or develop creative teaching methods. The program is targeted to schools in communities where 3M has facilities. |

Laura Bush Foundation - Library The goal of the Laura Bush Foundation is to provide PRINT BOOKS to the school libraries and students that most need them. The Laura Bush Foundation will make grants of amounts up to $5,000 to school libraries; funds are to be used to update, extend and diversify the book collections of those libraries. All Laura Bush Foundation grants are made to individual schools rather than to school districts, foundations, or other entities. Only one application per school is allowed. |
Outdoor Learning Areas Tree Trust is looking for school partners who would like to create an outdoor learning area on their school grounds, plant trees, shrubs and flowers to improve their land, and provide environmental training for teachers and students. |
Nickelodeon's Let's Just Play! Approximately 25- 50 grants will be distributed annually
The awards distributed will range from $5,000 to $10,000
Awards are divided into two categories: A base gift of $5,000 to all award recipients and additional matching grants of $1,000, up to an additional $5,000 per recipient.
Additional monies will be distributed on the stipulation that the funds received from Nickelodeon match 1:1 funds raised from another source. Funds must also be used to further an organization's physical activity program. |
